The climate in Puerto Viejo, Limón, is warm and humid tropical, with average temperatures ranging from 24-32°C. The rains are mainly at night, and the nighttime temperatures are pleasant.

You will see many animals, and you will be very close to them. Colina Secreta is located within a private nature reserve of 6 acres that acts as a biological corridor for wildlife. You can see toucans, sloths, howler and white-faced monkeys, iguanas, green and black frogs, among others.

Absolutely recommended, it's the best experience! Monkeys do not come close to the tents.

It's super safe to be at Colina Secreta. Just two pieces of advice: never touch the animals, and use a flashlight when walking at night to avoid possible encounters with venomous snakes.

We are on a hill, and there is no stagnant water for mosquitoes to breed. Sometimes, after prolonged periods of rain and at dusk, you might see some mosquitoes, but our guests rarely find them bothersome. The tents also have mosquito nets.

We have a partner medical emergency and ambulance service available 24 hours a day. In case of need, we will arrange transportation to Limón or San José if necessary, even by helicopter or plane. There are two medical clinics in Puerto Viejo, 5 km away, and several pharmacies.
