The Cahuita National Park was created in the year 1970 with the purpose of protecting the most important coral reef in the country, and is located within the tropical humid forest’s life zone. It has an extension of 22,400 hectares of jungle and sea and has 600 hectares of coral reef. Snorkeling tour in Cahuita Park known for its rich marine life and more than 100 species of tropical fish. INDIGENOUS TERRITORY and CACAO TOUR
The BriBri are an indigenous tribe of Talamanca region, they speak their own language BriBri as well as Spanish. The preservation of their language allowed them to maintain their indigenous culture. BriBri means Valiente in Spanish which can be translated as valiant, brave or courageous in English.
Cacao has a special significance in BriBri culture. In their believe the cacao tree is female. Originally the tree was a woman and Sibú (God) turned into a tree. Only women have the right to prepare and serve the sacred drink. The BriBri are using Cacao on special ceremonies and as a food and material for trade.

CACAO TRAILS and MUSEUM
If you would like to discover and learn all about cocoa or chocolate, you will be in the right place to do it, visiting our original cocoa plantation (more than 100 years old) with its respective history then we arrive at a new plantation in production where you learn how to grow cocoa in harmony with nature and you can also taste the fresh fruit. We will arrive at the Afro-Caribbean Museum, the whole history of cocoa, machinery used to process cocoa drying in the last century and next to the museum there is an adequate space where observe the whole process of the cocoa bean, even customers can participate tasting the grains in different stages of the process until they become chocolate and finally they can taste the chocolate they want, apart from this we have as a complement garden of heliconias, orchids, medicinal plants and a Ù-sulë, la casa cónica de los bribris used by shamans for ceremonies and social events (artifacts and history) all this with local guides in Spanish and English. Recommended to bring mosquito repellent.

PACUARE RAFTING
The Pacuare River is the perfect blend of wilderness exposure and excitement, all in one day. Pacuare is world famous for its sheer beauty. A true river gorge, it is flanked by steep, green walls. Here you enjoy the feeling of total isolation from urban life and the realness of being connected with nature. You see waterfalls cascade into the river from both sides as colorful, tropical birds fly right over your head. Amazing views of this virgin tropical rainforest area, appear before your eyes as you descend this true exploratory land. Wildlife is abundant, with sloth, toucans, parrots, coatis, morpho butterflies and colorful frogs being common sights.The white water is equally exciting. It is not an overly challenging river, but it has a lot of rapids, therefore giving you an adventure filled with lots of fun. The 18 mile one day run includes a total of 52 rapids. Few rivers in the world can offer you so many.Upon arrival to the river we will gear you up with a life jacket, helmet and paddle and then brief you with a full safety orientation talk. Finally, it is time to take off down the rapids!We finish in Siquirres, at our own private Exploration Center where you can take a shower, change and enjoy the gardens and terrace while having a beer or two and reflecting with your new friends about the great adventure you just shared.
